It has come to my attention that the Misnomer, a fixture on the UW Madison campus, has been coupled with a rather dated, amateurish website host and domain (The New York Times doesn't exist at THEnytimes.com). So, as the fall semester comes to a close and we usher in the new year, there is no better time to unveil the new website host and domain!
The fall semester has been an illustrious one, in which we have published about 50 articles, solidified a loyal, diligent staff, and conducted two fundraisers encouraging student standup comedy performance on a campus that otherwise does not offer such an opportunity. In addition, we've broadened our horizons with new perspectives on student life, refreshed our approach to how we provide commentary to the campus community, and rethought our writing and editing process, all the while increasing our views by the thousands.
These feats could not have been accomplished without a staff committed to excellence. At every avenue, we have embraced challenges, thought up solutions, and executed them, with the utmost of finesse and professionalism. Although we may not be as big as the previous satirical newspaper at UW-Madison, we are increasing our readership each day to sustain our role as one of the finest campus humor publications in the country.
We have seen our fair share of unresolved obstacles. Our print publication went to the wayside as budgeting rendered itself an insurmountable issue. There were problems in the communication between editors and writers. We were not able to secure a structured weekly routine that worked as efficiently or seamlessly as desired.
Improvements are on their way. We have a capable, willing, and charismatic staff who has gone and will continue to go the extra mile for the betterment of the organization. This is just the beginning of a Misnomer well on its way to its most successful years to date. Thank you for staying with us.
Happy Holidays and Be Well,
Kaden Greenfield, Editor-in-Chief
